The NTF 4.0 car is now equipped with LiFePo4 batteries (Lithium Iron Phosphate)! Since vehicle mass must be the reduced to a maximum, use of such batteries is advantageous. In fact, these batteries will replace our old Pb batteries and will be able to contain double capacity while only weighting half the mass! This is without saying that they last 10 times longer than our old batteries.

After some day testing, designing and manufacturing, we have finally completed our battery packs! It remains only to fit them in the car at the next SAE Supermileage, this week, in Michigan! Stay tuned for more updates starting Thursday!
